Geek Speak: How Geeks Can Communicate with the Rest of the Business World



Business Presentation Strategist Shari' Alexander is going to share with use the secrets behind successful presentations. She will help you become more persuasive and influential in your communications and, more importantly, show you how to create a technical presentation that doesn't make your listeners' heads hurt. Come and learn the speaking skills that will help you make a positive impression on your clients and supervisors.



Shari’s Biography:



Shari Alexander is the founder and president of Presenting

Matters, LLC, a business presentation consulting firm. She

has works with executives, international speakers, along with

other organizations and individuals that want results-driven

business presentations.

Shari started out as an actress at a young age. She carried her

passion to college, where she was a theatre major. She later gained

extra training at the University of London and studied under

directors from the Globe Theatre. She then ventured into an

actor’s life. It was then that she soon realized the term "starving

actor" was meant to be taken literally.

Shari founded Presenting Matters when she discovered her unique

ability to combine her theatrical background with a marketing

perspective and influential communications. This is how she has

helped so many organizations increase revenues, productivity, and

employee morale. She is now a professional speaker, corporate

communications consultant, and speech and presentation coach.

Shari has been named the 2007 Emerging High Impact

Topic: Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Tips for SharePoint



The popularity of SharePoint is increasing by leaps and bounds. SharePoint is no longer thought of as a fancy file share buy a viable Web Content Management Platform. As such, public facing SharePoint sites must rank well within popular search engines such as Google. This presentation explores some concepts and strategies for making SharePoint sites more attractive to SharePoint Sites.



Eric’s Biography:



Eric Gesinski began his information technology education by learning
how to program in Basic at age 8. His first job was doing programming
for a technical programming services company, at age 16. He progressed
from there by earning a Bachelor's Degree and a Master's Degree in
Computer Science from the University of Tulsa.

Eric has over 10 years of IT experience. While doing IT work as a full-time
job, Eric began studying internet marketing, making money online using
SEO skills as well as his pay per click expertise.

Eric now runs Tulsa Marketing Online, a Tulsa-based internet business,
helping local companies take their offline businesses online and moving
them upward with SEO, PPC, and other internet marketing strategies.

Topic: Avoiding Common SharePoint Mistakes

The longer one works in a discipline one learns certain tricks of the trade. This presentation explores common mistakes that are made or forgotten during installation, design, development, and deployment. The information shared in this presentation applies to an audience of both SharePoint Administrators and Developers. Attendees should leave the presentation with simple solutions to common real world issues.



Dennis’ Biography:

Dennis Bottjer is the solution architect for Microsoft Managed Gold Partner, SpringPoint Technologies LLC, which provides custom software development services across the central southwest region. For three consecutive years, Microsoft Corp. has designated Bottjer as a Most Valuable Professional (MVP) —an outstanding member of the technical community who provides third-party feedback to the software giant. Bottjer has worked for FORTUNE 100 Companies before bringing his enterprise experience to SpringPoint. He has over 11 years of experience in the IT industry and holds MCP and MCTS certifications for ASP.NET and SharePoint. Bottjer is proudly serving hit technical community as the President of the Tulsa SharePoint Interest Group and as the INETA Membership Mentor for Oklahoma.
